Food is ineluctably political. From farm bills and safety laws to distribution rules and dietary guidelines, there are political ingredients in almost every food item we purchase, consume, or waste.  

This edition of the Food, Ethics, X workshop brings together nutrition scientists, ethicists, and activists to discuss the political features of our contemporary foodscape.

Food, Ethics, X is an annual workshop series. Each year the “X” substitutes for a different concept: in 2020 it was “Psychology,” in 2021 it was “Technology,” in 2022 it is “Politics,” and in 2023 it will be “Religion.”
